West One Transport Ltd is a UK-based road haulage company providing reliable HGV transport services across England, Scotland, and Wales. This policy sets out the terms under which we collect, transport, and deliver goods.

By booking our services, customers agree to this Shipping & Transport Policy.

Service Coverage

  • Nationwide UK road haulage services

  • Same-day and next-day delivery options (subject to availability)

  • Palletised, full load, and part load transport

Services outside mainland UK or requiring specialist handling may be subject to separate terms and pricing.

Collection & Delivery Times

  • All collection and delivery times are estimates, unless a timed delivery is confirmed in writing.

  • Same-day and next-day services are planned using best-endeavours and may be affected by traffic, weather, or unforeseen delays.

  • West One Transport Ltd is not liable for delays caused by factors beyond our reasonable control.

Access & Site Conditions

Customers must ensure that collection and delivery locations:

  • Are safe and suitable for HGV access

  • Have appropriate loading/unloading facilities

  • Comply with legal weight and height restrictions

​

Any delays caused by poor access, waiting times, or site restrictions may incur additional charges.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for ensuring that:

​

  • Goods are correctly packaged, secured, and labelled

  • Accurate information is provided regarding weight, dimensions, and contents

  • Any special handling requirements are declared before booking

  • West One Transport Ltd reserves the right to refuse goods that are unsafe, illegal, or inadequately prepared.

Restricted & Prohibited Goods

Unless agreed in writing, we do not carry:

  • Dangerous or hazardous goods

  • Illegal or controlled substances

  • Temperature-controlled or perishable goods

  • Cash, jewellery, precious metals, or unusually high-value items

​

Undeclared restricted goods are transported entirely at the customer’s risk.

Liability, Loss & Damage

  • Carriage is subject to standard UK Road Haulage conditions, including RHA terms where applicable.

  • Liability for loss or damage is limited in accordance with UK transport law.

  • Claims must be submitted in writing within 7 days of delivery.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit or business interruption. Customers are strongly advised to arrange their own goods-in-transit insurance where appropriate.

Delays & Force Majeure

West One Transport Ltd shall not be liable for delays or non-performance caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • Severe weather

  • Road closures or accidents

  • Mechanical breakdowns

  • Industrial action

  • Acts of God or government restrictions

Charges & Payment

  • All charges are agreed prior to transport unless otherwise stated.

  • Additional charges may apply for waiting time, failed deliveries, re-deliveries, or changes requested after booking.

  • Payment terms are as stated on invoices or contractual agreements.

Cancellations

  • Cancellations must be notified as early as possible.

  • Late cancellations may result in charges to recover costs already incurred.

Complaints Procedure

We aim to provide a high standard of service at all times. If you wish to raise a complaint, please contact us with full details of the issue.
